Catholic Priest brutally murdered in Andhra Pradesh (Post 1)

Rev. Fr. Thomas Pandipally CMI (37) was gruesomely murdered on 16th of August, 2008. He must have died around 10.00 pm after the severe stabbing at the hands of the ‘unknown murders.’ He was on the way to Jeevadan Centre at Yellareddy, Andra Pradesh state in South India.
The tragedy occurred just two kms away from the FCC Convent, according to Fr. Thomas T Chittettu CMI, Secretary to Fr. Provincial of Mar Thoma Provincial House, Chanda, AP, who informed the CMI World Group.
As a dear friend who spent three years of my seminary life with Fr Thomas (as we call Pandippally) I grieve for him that such a good samaritan was murdered brutally in the hands of evil people: Fr Sony Palathra CMI, Ireland.

Larry and I send our most sincere condolences on the very tragic, untimely death of Fr. Thomas Pandippally. We are all left grieving, bewildered and at a loss to fathom such senseless savagery. Goodness can never understand evil. He was so young -- an ordained priest for just over six years. May the Lord grant him peace and rest, in the bliss of eternal life among all the blessed. Our prayers are with all of you.

Yours in Our Lord,

Hi Friends
It's very sad to hear that one missionary is brutally killed by extremists especially one who is personally known. Let's remember him and pray for his soul.....

What a gentle and kind face and what a lovely and sweet smile. India could not have a sweeter blessing than this great martyr. May his smile be on us in his glory today as his soul bathed in his owl blood reaches the throne of God.
My utter sadness and grief for Fr Thomas mother and friends. To see his body would be so devastating, the body she delivered, fed and brought up and sacrificed to the Lord. The pains taken by parents in India with financial and other difficulties are incredible, all destroyed by some selfish and hateful people.

May God have mercy on his attackers and bring good out of this great evil.
My love and prayers

i just read about the horrible murder of the priest in india. he had such a nice smile. you can see the peace of Jesus in his face. i am so sorry for his friends and family to lose such a wonderful priest. i am sorry for the people at his church. he must have been a dedicated priest and someone who was loved by so many.

my prayer is that they find out who did this and that no more priests will be harmed.

may God bless all of the catholics and christians in india especially those being persecuted.

Dear Father Sony,
thank you so much for your very good idea of putting a blog as a tribute for Rev. Fr. Thomas. The pain needs its own way of expression ... . We are united in our deep grief, where ever we are ... . May his deep missionary spirit give us courage for our life and ministry.
Thanking you once again,

It is a shame that such brutality and fanaticism and still on the rampage even after this murder. His killers do not understand that martyrs are stronger in death than life. We can only pray for his deceased soul and ask God to forgive whoever did this and them to see reason. Goodness will inevitably conquer evil however complicated it may be...

I find it very difficult to find words for this brutal act of killing a priest who has dedicated his life to serve the Lord by helping the poor.
Lord, I therefore ask you, please, to reward Fr. Thomas Pandipally with your heavenly blessings for those ones who truly follow your sun, Jesus Christ.
I also ask you to give his family, especially his mother, the strength to endure the pain of such a loss.
I also want to pray for his friends and brothers of his order to come to peace with such a brutal murdering of their friend and brother in Christ.
Last but not least, I also pray for his murderers, that they may turn from "Sauluses" to "Pauluses" and reralize what they have done and repent, so that they will be forgiven.
Nothing is impossible for God. He is Lord and shall be till the end of all days and evermore!!!
May the soul of Fr. Thomas have mercy on us, too. AMEN
